What is Idempotent?
Safe to repeat: same result whether called once or ten times.
An operation is idempotent when repeating it has no additional effect. GET, PUT and DELETE are idempotent in HTTP; POST is not — that's why payment APIs issue idempotency keys so a retried request can't charge twice.
